Fantasy

I am planning my Sci-Fi universe and although I have come up with loads of races and ideas for stories I am still wanting to do something in fantasy. I started making some notes and when I got to the the races I wanted in the story I got stuck…. as it was fantasy I listed all of the normal fantasy cliché races:

  • Humans
  • Dwarves
  • Elves
  • Orcs
  • Dragonkind
  • etc etc

I then started to worry about including them as people just relate it to Lord of the Rings or something like that, even though that isn’t where they originated, instead I decided that I would like to do a crossover, so I can write my fantasy novel and at the same time link it to my Sci-Fi universe.

To do this I have created a world where there are several continents and on each of them one of the main races abide, they trade and they fight each other, from the planet you can see three moons, in the middle there is a small island and on this island there are stone archways, one for each of the races, it is believed this is where they came to this world and every 5 thousand years they must send one person through the activated portals. The story would begin near the next opening and would centre around the people that are chosen.

When they go through they find a deserted monitoring station which is actually one of the moons. They also find previous members of their races, experimented on.

The idea being that one of the races in my universe is studying us to see how we react.

Lots to plan for, but it is a start.
